The Women's Ministry of Bellefonte Presbyterian Church will host its annual Chinese Auction on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 8866 Rocky River Road, Harrisburg, NC. Auction tickets will be available at the door for a donation of $5 per sheet of 25. Viewing of items begins promptly at 11 a.m., followed by the auction at noon. Proceeds to support ongoing women's ministry mission projects.

The Planning and Zoning Board meets at 6 p.m. at Town Hall on the third Tuesday of every month. The Board makes recommendations to the Town Council on rezoning cases, major subdivisions and text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance. The Planning and Zoning Board does not make final decisions; they are an advisory board whose purpose is to make recommendations to the Town Council regarding land use decisions. The Planning and Zoning Board is a volunteer board consisting of seven members. Six members of the Planning and Zoning Board reside in the Town of Harrisburg, and one member represents the Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of the Town of Harrisburg.

The Board's primary purposes are to advise the Town Council, Town Manager and the Fire Chief on matters of policy, administration and operations. Additionally, the Board advises the Town Manager and Town Council in financial planning, which shall include the acquisition of equipment, procurement of property construction of new buildings and remodeling current buildings. The Board shall also track the progress of the Fire Department's key objectives as outlined in the annual report and review the Harrisburg Fire Department By-Laws on an annual basis, recommending any changes to Harrisburg Town Council for final approval.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meets at 6 p.m. at Town Hall on the fourth Monday of every month. The Board recommends policies, projects and possible funding opportunities to the Town Council, as well as acting as a liaison to the community, soliciting volunteers and making recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Department on opportunities to improve the quality of life for Harrisburg residents through affordable, family-oriented programming, parks and special events. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is a volunteer board consisting of seven members. All seven members reside in the Town of Harrisburg.
