  3. NCDOT Litter Sweep

    April 13, 2019, 8:00 AM - April 27, 2019, 5:00 PM

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is recruiting locals for the biannual Litter Sweep, to be held from April 13 to April 27. Litter Sweep is a program that gets residents involved in cleaning up roadways to keep North Carolina beautiful and ultimately keep pollution out of our waterways. The Town is pleased to make the program more readily-available to residents by joining the effort. In addition to being able to pick up supplies from NCDOT locations, supplies will be available for pick up at Town Hall the week leading up to Litter Sweep. Supplies are reversible trash/recycling bags, gloves and safety vests. Residents can pick up supplies and do a litter sweep of the roads of their choosing. Residents can then leave bags on the roadside for NCDOT or the Town to collect during the two-week time frame. The Town asks that participants return safety vests. For more information, visit NCDOT.gov/littersweep and remember to share your clean-up images using #LitterSweepNC.
